Sinigang Na Baboy



Sinigang is a soup based with sampaloc, guava, kamias... a variety of style of sour soup. These day Sampaloc is commonly used to make sour soup. An instant mixture ready for use can be found in the grocery stores. Taste the sour taste of pork Sinigang with its unique taste, you'll surely close your eyes with its porky goodness!

Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs pork belly (or buto-buto)
  • 1 bunch spinach (or kang-kong)
  • 3 tbsp fish sauce
  • 1 bunch string beans (sitaw), cut in 2 inch length
  • 2 pieces medium sized tomato, quartered
  • 3 pieces chili (or banana pepper)
  • 1 tbsp cooking oil
  • 2 liters water
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 2 pieces taro (gabi), quartered
  • 1 pack sinigang mix (good for 2 liters water)
  • 1 pcs. raddish  (optional okra,and egg plant)



How To Make:


  1. Bring water to boil, then put tomatos and chopped onions. Let it out for at least 3 minutes.

  2. Put sliced pork in the boiling water followed by the sinigang mix.. simmer until pork is tender
  3. then put horse raiddsh simmer unril cooked then put water spinach ( kangkong) , and chilli. Let it stand for 3 minutes before serving. (Water spinach can be cooked easily)

    Good for 3 to 5 servings.
