Lengua Estofado


Lengua Estofado is a Spanish dish acguired by Filipinos and reinvented its style and taste.Lengua Estofado ( Lengua - Tongue) and you may use Pork or Beef toungue.



Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs ox tongue (lengua); cleaned, boiled until tender, skinned, and sliced
  •  12 pieces fresh white mushrooms, sliced
  • 10 ounces cream of mushroom condensed soup
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 cup water


How To Prepare:
  1. Bring to boil the toungue (port or beef) until its soft and tender.
  2. After its cool down.. you need to remove the outer layer of the toungue skin.
  3. slice the toungue very thin diagonally.
  4. Saute minced garlic and chopped onions using butter and a little oil ( as to not to burn the butter) followed by the sliced lengue ( tongue) .
  5.  Pour in mushroon cream and same amount of water ( measure from the can of the cream)
  6.  followed by mushroom slices, a dash of salt and black pepper.
  7. Let it simmer for 5 minutes. Done.
    Good for 8 to 10 servings.
