Lengua Estofado is a Spanish dish acguired by Filipinos and reinvented its style and taste.Lengua Estofado ( Lengua - Tongue) and you may use Pork or Beef toungue.
Ingredients:
- 2 lbs ox tongue (lengua); cleaned, boiled until tender, skinned, and sliced
- 10 ounces cream of mushroom condensed soup
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 cup water
How To Prepare:
- Bring to boil the toungue (port or beef) until its soft and tender.
- After its cool down.. you need to remove the outer layer of the toungue skin.
- slice the toungue very thin diagonally.
- Saute minced garlic and chopped onions using butter and a little oil ( as to not to burn the butter) followed by the sliced lengue ( tongue) .
- Pour in mushroon cream and same amount of water ( measure from the can of the cream)
- followed by mushroom slices, a dash of salt and black pepper.
- Let it simmer for 5 minutes. Done.
Good for 8 to 10 servings.
