Adobong Sitaw


 Adobong Sitaw is a local dish in the Philippines. There many ways of cooking this kind of food depending on which region you come from. This style came from the Central Philippines.

Ingredients :
  • 250 grams of ground lean pork
  • 2 bunches of sitaw (string beans), cut into 2-inch lengths
  • 4 to 6 cloves garlic, peeled and crushed
  • 1 onion or 2 shallots, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/4 c. of vinegar about
  • 3 tbsps. of soy sauce
  • 2 tbsps. of Canola cooking oil
  • chopped cilantro and red pepper flakes for garnish (optional)
 Procedure:
  1. Saute minced garlic, chopped onions followed by meat (pork) saute until pork is brownish.
  2. Add a soy sause, a tablespoon of vinegar.
  3. Simmer uncovered for several minutes to evaporatw the acid of the vinegar.
  4. Cover and simmer until meat is cooked..
  5. Add cuts of string beans. Cover and simmer until string beans are cooked.

    Good for 2 to 4 servings
